SAIGON FROM DAWN TO DUSK
CAPTURE THE BEST OF SAIGON ON THIS exhilarating tour
If you are pressed for time but eager to maximize your photography opportunities during your visit to Saigon, this full day photography tour is just what you need. From dawn in an enchanting maze of alleyways to the nostalgic Chợ Lớn, and an afternoon spent exploring both old and new Saigon, this is the perfect way to fully experience the city.
We will start the day at dawn in an enchanted maze, then head to Chinatown to immerse ourselves in the most authentic Saigon. Our morning sessions will end in the low profile District 8, a residential area characterized by canals and rivers, providing a fantastic setting for street photographers.
After a well-deserved lunch and nap break, we’ll kick off the afternoon with a photo review session over a cà phê sữa đá. Then, we’ll head to an island of wonders to capture life in a slower-paced environment. Our final stop will be the riverside, where we’ll enjoy the sunset descending on Saigon’s skyline. The afternoon itinerary may vary slightly between the dry and rainy seasons.

The best camera is the one you already own! Any cameras being DSLR, hybrids, compacts and even smartphones are welcome as the tours are truly about composition and creativity. In terms of lenses, bring a prime lens (35 or 50mm) if you have and a standard zoom lens. You also need one or two fully-charged batteries and enough memory cards to go through the day. Besides camera gear, make sure you wear light, hot weather appropriate clothing and closed shoes for optimal comfort.

As a general rule the rain never lasts long in Saigon, then either we will go under cover to continue to photograph or have a drink to review pictures and talk photography.

I will also stay in touch after the tour to give you feedback on your photos and provide you with education tools to go further. I see myself as a facilitator who will support your learning process and help you to empower yourself in your journey through the lens.

We will briefly discuss the technical side (exposure triangle, ways to focus, how to set your camera…) so that settings don’t get in the way of your photography. I will tell you about my vision of photography and what makes a great street photograph in my opinion. During the tour, I will also explain how to approach people in an appropriate way to capture more intimate and expressive photographs. We will focus on effective ways to tell impactful visual stories and work a scene through different techniques such as creative use of light, art of matching colors, use of perspectives and leading lines, sub-framing, and more.
